Mahwa is a census town in Mahwa Mandal, Dausa district in the Indian state of Rajasthan.

Geography

Mahwa is located 62 kilometres (39 mi) from its District Main City, Dausa, and 114 kilometres (71 mi) from its State Main City Jaipur. Mahwa, Jaipur, Dausa and Bharatpur are all situated on NH-11 (Agra to Bikaner).

As of 2001,[1] Mahwa had a population more than 19,558. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Mahwa has an average literacy rate of 60%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 72%, and female literacy is 47%. In Mahwa, 20% of the population is under 6 years of age.

  • There Are Mahadev Mandir Located at Mahwa Fort Known As " Bade Mahadev Ji".
  • There are Siddh Ashram Located and village Pali (2.3km) .
  • Babu Maharaj Temple: Temple of Lord Shiv (Mahadev) is famous for treatment of skin diseases (kod rog). It is situated in Sikandarpur a small village located 19 kilometres (12 mi) from Mahwa Town and 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from Hindauncity.
  • There are other temples at Bajangbali, Khare wale Baba, lalsingh bhumiya.
  • Mahndipur Balaji, 17 km from Mahwa towards Jaipur, is a popular religious place, famous for the divinity of Balaji.
  • There is Man Sidh Baba temple located in Hurla village.
