Mahuaa Bangla (Bengali: মহুয়া বাংলা) was a Bengali general entertainment channel launched by Mahuaa Media Private Limited.

About the channel

Owned by Mahuaa Media Pvt. Ltd., the owners of a Bhojpuri Channel with the same name, they announced their plans of launching a Bengali Channel. On July 9, 2010, the officials of MMPL organised a press conference in Kolkata, and at the same time unveiled the logo of the channel and its programming line-up.[1]

Mr. P.K. Tewari has been associated with the media and entertainment industry over two decades and has been the force behind the renowned feature film New Delhi Times, produced by P K communications Private Limited. He started his career in the year 1970 in Chennai.

Main attraction

Mahuaa Bangla started with a bang and created history as a sports reality show. It started a reality show titled "The Match", where a team of 11 football players was formed on the basis of their performance over the weeks was the main attraction of the channel in the beginning. Another reason for being so is the inclusion of Brazilian football players Branco and Romario, as a judge and adviser of the upcoming talented players on the show.
