Mahmud Khalid is a Ghanaian politician and a former Minister of State. He is a member of the National Democratic Congress (Ghana) of Ghana. He served briefly as the Minister for the Upper West Region in the Mills government.

Throughout Mahmud Khalid's office as Minister of State, there were protests led by his religious opponent because of his religious affiliation towards Ahmadiyya Islam. He made comments against him, and sent series of letters to castle for his removal from office as the regional minister. Allegations were raised that, the award of contracts, accessibility of the office of the minister and support were reaching only Ahmadi Muslims.[1] As a result of the upheaval, on 11 May 2010, Mahmud Khalid, the Upper West Regional Minister was dismissed by the President of Ghana, John Atta Mills. Khalid suggested members of his party lobbied for his dismissal.[2] Alhaji Issaku Saliah, a former MP for Wa West was nominated as his replacement[3] and approved by parliament on 23 July 2010.[4]
