Magdalena Roze (born 1982) is an Australian meteorologist for Network Ten.

As of November 2013, Roze began presenting the weather on Ten Eyewitness News Early and Ten Eyewitness News Morning.

Early life and education

Roze was a scholarship holder and graduate from the University of Sydney where she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communication. In addition to her media qualification, Magdalena completed a Graduate Diploma in Atmospheric Science at Macquarie University, being awarded both the 2009 Biophysical Environments Prize and the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society Prize for her academic achievements.

Career

Roze has reported live from the studio and the front-lines in extreme circumstances - including breaking national news of the biggest weather events and natural disasters in our country’s recent history - from bush fires to floods, from cyclones to drought.

In 2010 Magdalena accepted the ASTRA Award for Best News Coverage for The Weather Channel’s reporting of the Black Saturday bush fires, and in 2011 was nominated for both Best News Coverage and Most Outstanding Performance by a Broadcast Journalist.

She has also completed a meteorological training course at the Bureau of Meteorology and been invited back to Macquarie University as a Guest Lecturer.

Roze has over three years as Anchor, Weather Presenter and Meteorologist at The Weather Channel, and guest appearances as Weather Expert and Commentator on prime time radio and television programs across Australia.[1]

Magdalena joined Network Ten in October 2011 and became a weather presenter on Ten News at Five: Weekend.[1]

In January 2012, Roze joined Breakfast as weather presenter.[2] She broadcast from London during the course of the 2012 London Olympics.[3] She was also the weather presenter on Ten Morning News from August 2012.

Roze has also filled in as the newsreader on Ten Morning News and guest co-host of The Project on a number of occasions.
