Plot

By the will of her dead uncle who was murdered Sandra Paoli ( Helen Fillières ), is propelled to the head of a powerful mafia clan. She becomes a respected, but also hated, woman in a world of men, murder and criminality. Backed up by her brother, she learns how to assert herself in a very violent world. To rise to the occasion, the young woman will have to seduce, manipulate, and reinvent the clan in its own way. According to several media sources, the character Sandra is actually an adaptation of the current life of the Corsican widow Sandra Casanova-Germani whose brother Jean-Luc Germani is the most wanted man in France. The series contains violence and political schemes.

Cast / characters

  • Hélène Fillières  : Sandra Paoli - Jean-Michel's sister, Carmen's aunt, and leader of the mafia...which she constantly battles over with her brother. She kills her brother, making her niece an orphan, but gets custody of Carmen. Having Carmen living with her increases her guillt and is eventually arrested in front of her in the season 4 finale. In season 5, she will have to deal with the consequences after her incarceration.
  • Phareelle Onoyan  : Carmen Paoli - Sandra's beloved niece and Jean-Michel's daughter. Carmen grew up in the shadow of the Paoli clan, her father attempted to not to build a too hard of life for Carmen. She believes in her aunt's love for her and admires her for being a capable woman in a man's world. Sandra gets custody of Carmen after she kills her father. Carmen is orphaned again after the arrest of her aunt.
  • Thierry Neuvic  : Jean-Michel Paoli - Sandra's brother and father of Carmen. Killed by Sandra, (Seasons 1-3).
