History

Madison Media Institute was established in 1969 by Ray Szmanda as Trans-American School of Broadcasting with programs that prepared graduates for jobs in radio broadcasting. Over the years the college added a broader range of programs to reflect the changes in the media field.

In August 2007 the Hutchings family sold the college to American Higher Education Development Corporation, a New York company.

In 2010 the Media College added a branch campus in Minneapolis, Minnesota in a historic recording studio where students can learn the art of music production and recording. The Minneapolis campus also offers a program in game art and animation.
