The megabat subfamily Macroglossinae is a small group comprising only four genera. The name "Macroglossinae" also happens to be shared by a subfamily of the moth family Sphingidae, a situation which the international taxonomic community has yet to rectify.[citation needed] Species within this subfamily are:
