Mack Rhoades IV is the current athletic director at the University of Houston. On June 11, 2009 it was announced he would be leaving the University of Akron to take over the Athletics Director position at the University of Houston. Rhoades had been hired at Akron in December 2005 after former Zips athletic director Mike Thomas took the same position at the University of Cincinnati.
Rhoades is a former senior associate and assistant athletic director at University of Texas at El Paso. Prior to his arrival at Akron, he had worked in the UTEP athletics department since 1998.
