The Machvaya (also Machavaya) are a group of Romani originating from Serbia (from Mačva). They are an offshoot of the Lovari Romani migration coupled with the war in the Balkans has meant there are an increased number of Machvaya living in other countries, specifically where there are an increased number of Serbs. Tucson, Arizona and Hamilton, Ontario both house large numbers of Machvaya as do the USA, Canada, Brazil and the United Kingdom as a whole.[citation needed]
