MTV España (MTV Spain) is the Spanish-speaking version of the popular 24-hour music and youth entertainment channel. MTV España is available on digital satellite Pay-TV offer Digital+, IPTV, many cable networks and from September 2010 on digital terrestrial television (DTT - TDT in Spanish) for free (the second version to do so after MTV Italia).
History
- MTV España was launched in September 2000 replacing the existing feed of MTV Europe with the region.
- The channel broadcasts a range of music and popular culture programming.
- The channel is located in Madrid at the Viacom studios, but it is controlled by MTV Networks Europe in London.

Current Developments
- As of September 2010, MTV Spain will be available to homes throughout the country through digital terrestrial television through an agreement between Viacom and Vocento. In recent years other popular channels such as the Disney Channel have become free-to-air in Spain increasing viewership and revenue.
