MSN Murthy (Mutnuri Srinivasa Narasimha Murthy - मुट्नूरि श्रीनिवास नरसिम्ह मूर्ति in Devanagari) is an eminent Carnatic Music violinist. He has been winning high degree of critical acclaim for his purity of style, fine aesthetic sense, powerful sound, flawless execution and complete command over the instrument.

Early life and background

Born into a music family with musical roots extending back to several generations, with parents Mutnuri V. Subbarayudu and M. Jalajakshi (Veteran Vocalist), MSN Murthy had a good exposure to music from an early age. The family is known to have patronized and hosted most veteran Carnatic musicians - both well known and not so well known.

Performing career

M. S. N. Murthy has been known to be a child prodigy and started performing at an early age of 10. He was exempted from age criteria and selected as a casual artiste by All India Radio when he was 14.[3]

MSN Murthy, holds the "Top Grade" from All India Radio" and is a humble and multitalented personality and is a virtuoso with the Violin, Viola and a Vocalist of repute. He is an Empanelled Artiste of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

Personal life

Mutnuri Srinivasa Narasimha Murthy an Engineer with a degree in Electronics & Communications and a Diploma in Music is a musician by choice. Served All India Radio as Staff artist for 20 years and opted for voluntary retirement[4]He is graded Top Grade for Violin, and A grade in Viola and Vocal - is married to Dr. Pantula Rama an eminent Carnatic Musician.[5]
