MEI Conlux (formerly known as Mars Electronics International) is one of the world's leading manufacturers of electronic bill validators, coin acceptors and changers.[citation needed] MEI has over 36 years experience manufacturing cash handling systems.[citation needed] Originally founded as a division of Mars Incorporated, MEI was spun off to private investment interests in July 2006. It was later sold off to Crane, which also manufactures vending machines
