Karen Marie Ørsted (born in Odense, Denmark in August 13, 1988), better known as , is a Danish singer and songwriter signed to Sony Music Entertainment. Mø, whose name means "maiden" or "virgin" in Danish, has been compared to electro-pop vocalists such as Grimes, Purity Ring, and Twin Shadow.[1]

Music career

2012–14: No Mythologies to Follow

In 2012 Mø released her debut single "Maiden". On January 14, 2013 she released the single "Glass".[2] On March 15, 2013 she released "Pilgrim",[3] the song featured as P3s Uundgåelige (P3 Unavoidable), a label given to rising artists by Danish radio station DR P3 and was initially released on limited-edition 7" vinyl single through Turntable Kitchen's Pairings Box.[4] The song has peaked to number 11 on the Danish Singles Chart.[5] Mø's first live tv appearance was during Danish P3 Guld Awards on 27 March 2013.[6] On June 7, 2013 she released the single "Waste of Time".[7] On August 18, 2013 it was confirmed through manager, Ash Pournouri on Twitter that MØ is the vocalist for Avicii's highly anticipated song "Dear Boy" which was later featured on his debut album, True. On August 30, 2013 she released the single "XXX 88".[8] On October 18, 2013 she released her first EP Bikini Daze.[9] On January 16, 2014 she she debuted her new single "Don't Wanna Dance" on BBC Radio 1's "The Zane Lowe Show". On March 10, 2014 she will release her debut studio album No Mythologies to Follow.[10][11]
