Lusiana (Cimbrian / German: Lusaan) is a small town in the province of Vicenza, Veneto, Italy. It is west of SP72. Lusiana had an estimated population of 2,926.[2] This village is situated at about 750 metres on the Asiago plateau.

The small town is the birthplace of Sonia Gandhi, widow of Rajiv Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India. As of 2007, she was named the third most powerful woman in the world by Forbes magazine in the year 2004[citation needed] and currently ranks 6th.[citation needed]. Sonia Gandhi was born in a small quarter ("contràda" in Italian [citation needed]) called “Màini” where families with the family name “Màino” have been living for many generations.[3][4][5][6]
