Lumiar (Portuguese pronunciation: [lumiˈaɾ]) is a freguesia (or civil parish) in the northern area of the Portuguese capital of Lisbon. Located now within the municipality of Lisbon, it was established in the 13th century. It has an estimated population of 45,000 people, inhabiting a land area of about 628 km2 (242 sq mi). There are 5 major neighbourhoods in Lumiar: Quinta das Conchas, Calçada de Carriche, Alto do Lumiar, Paço do Lumiar and Telheiras (though a small western section of the latter is located within Carnide's parish).

Local landmarks and interesting places include one of the biggest public greenspace/urban parks in the city Quinta das Conchas e dos Lilases, the Paço do Lumiar, the National Costume Museum (Museu do Traje) and the Theater Museum (Museu do Teatro). Several old palaces are also scattered throughout the neighbourhood.
