Lumbini (Nepali: लुम्बिनी अञ्चल Listen (help·info)), is one of the fourteen zones of Nepal and is home to Lumbini site, the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama,[1] who later became the historical Buddha and founder of the Buddhist philosophy. The zone's headquarters is Butwal.
The current King of Lumbini anchal is Raja Mahendra Chand of Kumaon, married to Rani Gita Chand
