Career

Haruna first played football for Moderate Stars Academy and Global Crystal Academy in Nigeria. Lukman signed for Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in January 2008 and it is understood Haruna was chased by a number of Europe's top clubs including Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. On 25 May 2009, he signed his first professional contract with AS Monaco that runs until 30 June 2012.

Following Monaco's relegation at the 2010–11 season, he signed a five-year contract with Ukraine Premier League giants Dynamo Kyiv on 26 June 2011.
