Lukas Hilbert
Lukas Hilbert (born 23 December 1972 in Hamburg) is a German composer, lyricist, music producer, and singer.
Career
Hilbert founded a musical band called The Future with his brother, Kieran, when he was twelve years old. Together they toured Germany until Udo Lindenberg took the brothers into his Panikorchester. At the same time, Lukas and Kieran Hilbert founded the rock band Hauden & Lukas, and Lukas began writing songs with Lindenberg. He worked on the 1991 Lindenberg album Ich will Dich haben, which won a golden disc, before releasing two solo albums, which were less successful.
He achieved his first notable success as a lyricist when the single Du mußt ein Schwein sein performed by Die Prinzen reached the top ten in Germany in 1995. In 1996, he wrote the lyrics of Boomerang, which was sung by Blümchen.
In 1996, he founded a band Roh in Hamburg with Carsten Pape and Meik Dobbratz. Following an album in 1996 and another in 1998, the band released a more successful album Rohmantisch in 2000. Following a tour with Peter Maffay, the band split.
After writing some further songs, in 2003, he produced the Oli.P singles Neugeboren and Alles ändert sich, on which he also sang. Also in 2003, he wrote the lyrics for the Dieter Bohlen production of Für Dich sung by Yvonne Catterfeld, which reached number one in the German singles charts.
In December 2004, the single Was ich an Dir mag, on which Hilbert performed as a solo singer, reached number three in the German singles charts. He appeared as a member of the jury in the Popstars series on ProSieben, and produced the debut single Sweetest Poison of the band Nu Pagadi, which was formed from that series. The single reached number-one in the German singles charts. He wrote lyrics and produced the number one album Laut und Leise by Peter Maffay. On 10 January 2005, Hilbert released a solo album with the title Der König bin ich. He competed for Bremen in the Bundesvision Song Contest with his single Kommt meine Liebe nicht bei dir an and was placed eleventh.
At the end of 2006, he wrote the song Erinner mich Dich zu vergessen, which reached the top 10 in Germany sung by Yvonne Catterfeld. On 3 November 2006, he released the single Ganze Welt on which he sang with Katerina Loules, also known as Tryna, who had been a candidate on Popstars. In December 2006, he sang In Dir Ist Immer Noch Ein Licht, which he had composed and wrote the lyrics of, with Peter Maffay, Udo Jürgens, José Carreras und Piero Masuchett as the opening song to José Carreras Gala 2006.
In 2008, Hilbert wrote the title track of Peter Maffay's number one album Ewig.[1]
in 2010, Hilbert composed the single "Missing You" of girlgroup the Saturdays together with Alexander Kronlund. The single was his first success in the UK and reached number three. It was three weeks number one in the radio charts.[2]
In 2011, Hilbert moved to Los Angeles and worked together with highest selling Asian Girlgroup Wonder Girls.[3] He co-wrote and co-produced their song "Nu Shoes"[4] and the first American release "Like Money"[5] feat. Akon.[6]
In 2012, Hilbert worked with Carly Rae Jepsen. The song "Tonight I'm Getting Over You" was produced by Max Martin & Lukas Hilbert and written by Lukas Hilbert, Max Martin, Carly Rae Jepsen, Clarence Coffee, Shiloh, and Tryna Loules.
He did the "Hilbert remix" for Taylor Swift's Billboard no 1 "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together".
In 2012, Lukas Hilbert co-wrote the Kesha song "All That Matters (The Beautiful Life)" with Kesha, Max Martin, Shellback, Savan Kotecha, and Alexander Kronlund.
In 2012, Lukas Hilbert worked with Chris Brown. The single "Nobody's Perfect" is produced by Lukas Hilbert. Written by Lukas Hilbert, Showtek, David Jost, Kasia Livingston and co-produced by Showtek & David Jost.
In 2012, Lukas Hilbert produces Carly Rae Jepsen and Nicki Minaj together with Max Martin. Nicki Minaj is doing a collaboration with Carly on the song Tonight I'm Getting Over You[7]
In 2013 Lukas Hilbert works for Max & Dr. Luke's Girlgroup g.r.l The Song "Girls Are Always Right" is produced by Lukas Hilbert and written by Lukas Hilbert, Katerina Loules, Emily Harder[8]
