Lucy Walsh (born December 3, 1982 in Santa Barbara, California) is an actress, singer, songwriter, and pianist. She is the daughter of Eagles' guitarist Joe Walsh, and niece, via the marriage of Joe Walsh and Marjorie Bach, of Ringo Starr.

Early life

Walsh has stated that she was conceived at the UK home of Ringo Starr.

She is trained in classical piano and was a pre-professional ballerina for 10 years.

Musical career

Walsh was signed to Island Records by L.A. Reid in 2006.

In 2008, Walsh appeared on the reality television singing competition Rock the Cradle, which featured the offspring of famous singers competing against one another. She came in third place. Judge Larry Rudolph said that "the hairs on his arms were standing up" after hearing her.[1] She received a "Perfect 10"[2] from Rudolph for her performance of Don Henley's "Heart of The Matter." Fellow judge Brian L. Friedman said, "Lucy was untouchable...Magical, I was in her soul."[3]

In 2010, Walsh played keyboards for Australian singer Ry Cuming; they toured alongside Maroon 5 and OneRepublic. She has performed at SXSW, the Sundance Film Festival, The Viper Room, Hotel Cafe, and The Hard Rock Cafe in Los Angeles, where she completed an 8 week residency.

In 2011, she released the EP 1882. She is currently working on her debut full-length album as well as an instrumental piano album.

As a songwriter, she has collaborated with Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, and Craig Wiseman. Walsh has written songs for other artists, including Mark Russell and Czech artist Marketa Konvickova, and her songs have been place in both television and film, with one of her songs being featured on the debut season of The Voice.

Walsh sang a cover of "Not Alone Any More" on the Roy Orbison tribute record Under the Covers. Walsh has also had the honor of singing the National Anthem on many occasions, including performances at Dodger Stadium and at The Tiger Woods Learning Center for former President of the United States Bill Clinton.

Acting career

Walsh became a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) in 2011. She is managed by Innovative Artists. In 2012, she filmed roles in a feature film starring Jessica Biel as well as a Film Short for an Oscar-nominated director.

Philanthropy

Walsh works regularly with "The Art of Elysium" a charity which brings art to children's hospitals every week. Walsh plays music for, and teaches songwriting to, the patients. "I take my keyboard, and play in the play rooms, as well as 'bedside' for those who are too seriously ill to leave their bed. I have done several music projects with patients, helping them to write and record their own songs." Walsh performed at the 2012 Art of Elysium Heaven Gala (in Los Angeles) honoring Elijah Wood's efforts towards the foundation.
