Lucio Russo (politician)
Lucio Francis Russo (May 14, 1912 – April 20, 2004) was an American lawyer and Republican Party politician who served eleven terms in the New York Assembly, representing Staten Island.[1]
Early life and career
A New Castle, Pennsylvania native, Russo graduated from Fordham University School of Law and began a law practice in Staten Island. He served for twenty-two years in the New York Assembly until he was defeated by Guy Molinari in a Republican primary in 1974.[2]
Death
On April 20, 2004, Russo and his wife of 65 years, Tina Iarossi Russo who was a local activist and founder of the Staten Island chapter of the March of Dimes, were killed in an automobile accident near their winter home in Boynton Beach, Florida. At the time of their deaths they were living between Boynton Beach and their longtime home of Todt Hill, Staten Island.[3]
