"Loungin" is the third and final single from LL Cool J's sixth album, Mr. Smith. It was released by Def Jam Recordings and Columbia Records on June 25, 1996. It was written by LL Cool J and Al B. Sure! and produced by Rashad "Ringo" Smith and LL Cool J. A popular remix featuring vocals by Total and production from the Trackmasters was also released. Loungin was a huge success, peaking at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, number one on the Hot Rap Singles and number four on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. The song samples Al B. Sure!'s "Nite and Day" and on the B-Side was "Summer Luv".
The remix version of the song samples "Who Do You Love?" by Bernard Wright.
The song also appeared in an episode of LL's sitcom, In The House.
