Louisiana Highway 978 (LA 978) is a state highway in Louisiana that serves Pointe Coupee Parish. It spans 4.69 miles (7.55 km) in a south-to-north direction, but since it is an even numbered highway, it is considered to be an east/west roadway. It is known locally as Bigman Lane.
Route description
From the south, LA 978 begins at an intersection with US 190 east of Livonia, near Torbert. It heads north and intersects with LA 979 before coming to an end at LA 1 near False River, in the unincorporated community of Oscar.
It is an undivided, two-lane highway for its entire length.
