Louisiana Highway 593 (LA 593) is a state highway in Louisiana which is 17.27 miles (27.79 km) long. It extends from LA 139 in Collinston, travels through central Bastrop, and terminates at US 425 north of Bastrop.[1][2]

Route description

LA 593 begins at LA 138 in Collinston, traveling through sparsely populated areas, with an intersection with LA 3079 in that stretch. The highway passes just west of the Morehouse Memorial Airport, entering Bastrop proper. In Bastrop, LA 593 intersects LA 139 and begins a concurrency. At the Morehouse General Hospital, the road becomes a one way pair, intersecting with the one way pair streets of US 165/US 425/LA 2 three to four blocks north of the hospital, ending its concurrency with LA 139 and starting one with US 425. The one way pair ends two blocks north, and passes just west of an industrial area and provides access to several strip malls. Near the northern end of Bastrop, LA 593 ends its concurrency with US 425, and LA 593 veers to the left as it leaves Bastrop. North of the town, LA 593 passes by the Morehouse Country Club, the Georgia Pacific Wildlife Management Area, and Bussy Brake, all to the west of the road. LA 593 itself ends at an intersection with US 425.[1][2]

Major intersections

The entire highway is in Morehouse Parish.
