Louisiana Highway 33 (LA 33) is a state highway in Louisiana that serves Lincoln and Union Parishes. It spans 44.15 miles (71.05 km). [1]

Route description

LA 33 begins at an interchange with US 80 continuing to the north as Farmerville Highway. It passes under I-20 before continuing north through large parts of undeveloped land. It joins LA 15 for a short distance, along with LA 2, through Farmerville, the parish seat of Union Parish. The bridge over LA 33 as it crosses Lake D'Arbonne is named for James Peyton Smith, the state representative from Union and Morehouse parishes from 1964 to 1972. [2]

LA 33 then continues north after splitting with LA 15 and LA 2, through the small town of Marion before ending at the Arkansas state line, en route to Hurrig, AR as AR 129.

LA 33 is an undivided, two-lane road for its entire route. Before the 1955 Louisiana Highway renumbering, LA 33 was known as State Route 44 from Ruston to Farmerville, State Route 11 between Farmerville and Marion, and State Route 156 from Marion to the Arkansas state line.
