LA 3073, more commonly known as Ambassador Caffery Parkway, is a western bypass route of Lafayette, Louisiana. It runs from LA 93, LA 342 (Bertrand Drive) approximately 8.5 miles (13.7 km) southeast to US 90 (Evangeline Thruway), crossing the Vermillion River along the way. The road serves as a primary commercial corridor for the growing southwest suburbs of Lafayette[citation needed], running directly past the Mall of Acadiana as well as many smaller commercial centers.

An extension of the road east to U.S. Highway 90 (Evangeline Thruway/Future Interstate 49) opened in 2010. The extension's southern terminus is in Broussard, at the entrance to the Zoo of Acadiana. To the north, Ambassador Caffery Parkway continues as local thoroughfare and eventually becomes LA 3184, and continues past its junction with Interstate 10 to LA 725, Renaud Road. There are plans to extend the road northward to link it with Interstate 49.

Train Derailment
