Louisiana Highway 1256 (LA 1256) is a state highway in Louisiana. It spans 3.72 miles (5.99 km), serving Calcasieu Parish.
Route description
LA 1256 is effectively an older alignment of LA 27 through the city of Sulphur. It connects LA 27 from the south to I-10 before ending at an intersection with US 90. LA 1256 was created in 2012 with a small renumbering of Louisiana highways.
LA 27 originally used LA 1256 to connect with US 90, and the two were paired until LA 27 broke off at what is now Lewis Street, signed for about five years as LA 27 Business. LA 27 was shifted onto the former LA 3077 alignment when LA 27 was completed south along its current alignment.
