Lorenzo Ramaciotti

Lorenzo Ramaciotti (born 1948 in Modena, Italy) is an Italian car designer.

After graduating in mechanical engineering from the Polytechnic of Turin, in 1973 he joined Pininfarina , where in a short time he was given the responsibility for the creation of models and prototypes automobile. In 1982 he became deputy director of Pininfarina Studies and Research in Cambiano, and then in 1988 he was appointed general manager and responsible for the design of the company, a position he held for seventeen years.
During this period, under his supervision were born some of the most famous Ferrari, such as Ferrari 456 (1992), Ferrari 550 Maranello (1996), Ferrari 360 Modena (1999), Ferrari Enzo (2002) , Ferrari F430 (2004) and Ferrari 612 Scaglietti (2004).
He was also responsible for other projects, such as Maserati Quattroporte V (2003) and Peugeot 406 Coupe (2005) and helped to develop a dozen concept cars,including Ferrari Mythos (1989) and Maserati Birdcage 75th (2005) and several projects related to cars for various automotive companies.[1]
Meanwhile, in 1994 he joined the Board of Directors of Pininfarina , and in 2002 he was also appointed CEO Research and Development of Pininfarina SpA. After thirty years of Pininfarina in 2005, announced his resignation with intent to retire to private life, but in 2007 accepted the proposal of the CEO of Fiat Group, Sergio Marchionne, and from 1 June of the same year assumes the role general manager of the Fiat Style Centre, becoming supervisor of the whole style of the brands of Fiat Group Automobiles (Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Fiat Professional , Abarth) and Maserati, after the acquisition of the Chrysler Group, the Italian designer its action also extends to American brands Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler and SRT. Its role is to oversee a global level, the image of the ten brands of the group , leaving the heads of the individual brands expertise in search of style, but it is directly responsible for the Alfa Romeo style.

Although, therefore, in the Fiat Group continues on the role of supervisor there are some cars that Ramaciotti personally designed, including Alfa Romeo Giulietta in 2010, and Alfa Romeo 4C Concept in 2011 and its model series of 2013.
