Lorensz Scholarship

The Lorensz Scholarship is one of the oldest of the panel prizes at Royal College Colombo. It is the second oldest panel prize at is being currently awarded to students of Royal College, the oldest public school in the country. Awarded annually to the best all rounder with best in performance in academics and sports. First awarded in 1876, in memory of Charles Ambrose Lorensz.[1]
The award should not be confused with the Dornhorst Memorial Prize awarded for General Merit and the Lalith Athulathmudali Memorial Prize awarded to the most outstanding Royalist of the year.
Notable winners of the Lorensz Scholarship include Tambyah Murugaser, Sri Lankan cricketer.
