Local Partnerships
Local Partnerships LLP is one of the six bodies that form the Local Government Group overseen by the Local Government Association (LGA). It was formed in 2009 as a limited liability partnership by the LGA and Partnerships UK (PUK) and incorporates the services previously offered by the 4ps. Following the dissolution of PUK in 2011, the role of PUK was taken over by HM Treasury.
The role of Local Partnerships is to provide the public sector with commercial expertise and experience, in particular around developing and implementing complex projects and partnerships covering the public and private sectors. It works with all councils, local authorities and public services across health, policing, emergency services and education.
It is funded by a mix of money 'top-sliced' from local authorities' Revenue Support Grant (RSG) payments from the UK government, grant funding from UK government departments, and fee income from chargeable services.
The current Chairman is Edward Lord. John Carleton was Chief Executive between 2009 and 2010.
