Lloa is a group of indigenous of Formosa living in the southern plain of the island called Taiwan. The city of Chi-Lloa (AKA Chia-yi) was named after the people, but was changed to Chia-Yi after the failure of their resistance to the Chinese occupation in 1500's. The Chinese fled to Taiwan after Manchurian conquered China in 1500's. The resistance had caused the genocide of the entire population, though few of them, especially women, changed their identity and were forced to marry Chinese immigrants.
