Liz Cochran (born August 7, 1988) is Miss Alabama 2009.[1]

Biography

Liz Cochran is a native of Helena, Alabama and graduate of Pelham High School. She attends Birmingham-Southern College, majoring in dance and Pre-Medicine[2][3] and is a member of First Baptist Church of Pelham[4][5] She is a member of Kappa Delta Sorority.

Competitions

Competing in the 2009 Miss Alabama Pageant at Samford University as Miss Hoover, Liz Cochran won the swimsuit preliminary and was crowned Miss Alabama on June 6, 2009. In keeping with her medical interests, her platform focuses on the prevention of cardiovascular disease.[6] Following her crowning as Miss Alabama, October 17, 2009 was proclaimed Liz Cochran Day and she was presented the key to the city in her hometown of Helena.[7]

She competed in the Miss America Pageant on January 30, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada and was a finalist for the 2010 Quality of Life Award.[8]
