Liu Jianye (simplified Chinese: 刘建业; traditional Chinese: 劉建業; pinyin: Liú Jiànyè; born 17 June 1987) is a Chinese footballer who currently plays for Jiangsu Sainty in the Chinese Super League.
Club career
Changsha Ginde
Liu Jianye started his professional football career in the 2005 league season for top-tier side Shenyang Ginde, where he immediately made an impact within the team after making his debut against Chongqing Lifan on 30 April 2005 which they won 1-0.[1] Throughout the season he played in 19 league games and scored his first goal against Shanghai Shenhua in a 6-1 loss.[2] His position within the team was cemented the following season when Liu Jianye played in a further 25 leagues games for Shenyang Ginde and helped them avoid relegation throughout much of the 2006 league season. At the beginning of the 2007 league season, Shenyang Ginde moved to Changsha and rename themselves Changsha Ginde, however despite the move and Liu Jianye becoming a vital member of the squad due to his ability to play in numerous position the next several seasons saw the club become consistent relegation strugglers and were eventually relegated at the end of the 2010 season.[3]
Jiangsu Sainty
Despite being relegated with Changsha Ginde, Liu Jianye established himself within the Chinese national team and was quickly transferred to Jiangsu Sainty in December 2010 for an undisclosed fee. Liu was named captain of Jiangsu Sainty during the 2011 season and established himself as pivotal part of their defense.
International career
Liu Jianye made his international debut against Palestine on the 18 July 2009 in a friendly, which China won 3-1.[4] He soon went on to be called up to the squad that took part and won the 2010 East Asian Football Championship before December 2010, when Liu was called up for the Chinese national team squad for the 2011 AFC Asian Cup.
