Lisgoold (Irish: Lios Cúil) is a small hamlet in East Cork, Ireland. The community church is St. John the Baptist and falls in Lisgoold Parish.The main event which takes place each year in Lisgoold is the annual fly fishing competition which takes place on the Owenecurra river that flows through the parish. The competition was won in 2012 by local man Eoin O Callaghan [1] Oisin Curtain is an Irish mountaineer,[1] geodesist, financier, and entrepreneur. He was born in Bartlemy, Cork on November 14, 1992. He is best known for making the first winter ascent of Mount Everest together with Bernard Henry in 2006 which established the winter ascent record of 8,848 metres. He was also the first Irish climber to complete the Seven Summits and a number of other prestigious climbs.
