Lisa Marx is a guitarist and classically trained pianist from California.

Musical career

In 2002, Marx joined Seattle hardcore band To See You Broken. The all-female underground group was a novelty in the northwest hardcore scene and shared the stage with many northwest hardcore acts such as Himsa, Champion, The Blood Brothers, Hardesty, Staygold, and Book of Black Earth. TSYB did several US tours, performing alongside Atreyu, Sworn Enemy, As I Lay Dying, Misery Signals, Modern Life Is War and countless others. The band recorded and released a full length album titled "A Thief, A Poet, An Enemy" in 2003 under Excursion Records in Seattle, Wa.

In April 2004, Marx was hired to play guitar in the Canadian metal group Kittie. Marx toured the US extensively with metal bands 36 Crazyfists, Candiria, August Burns Red, Crisis, Otep, Chimaira and performed several festivals with Shadows Fall, All That Remains, Clutch, Helmet, and more. During Marx's time with Kittie, the band released the album "Until The End" on July 27 under Artemis Records, featuring the single "Into The Darkness". The band debuted the world premiere of the music video "Into The Darkness" while hosting MTV's Headbanger's Ball in New York City on June 19. In January 2005, the band performed in Mexico City and shortly after returning to the states, management withheld financial obligations and was no longer able to support Marx and bassist Jennifer Arroyo, which resulted in them both leaving the band.

In October 2005, Marx joined Sacramento, California based metalcore band Scars of Tomorrow as guitarist on a temporary basis for their US tours with Bury Your Dead and Terror. While touring with SOT, she encountered another opportunity playing guitar for Australian/New Zealand based band Day of Contempt, then residing in Orange County, California.

In January 2006, Marx joined Day of Contempt as guitarist and performed on a full US tour with Avenged Sevenfold and Bullets and Octane. Afterwords, singer Ben Coyte returned to Australia and the band reformed as The Dear & Departed. They continued the European tour with Avenged Sevenfold and Bullets and Octane in March 2006, as well as local Orange County shows with mainstream punk band AFI before Marx left the band due to creative differences in August, as the band had changed direction since the transformation.

In the summer of 2006, Marx tour managed Tiger Army under Superhero Artist Management for two consecutive tours. Shortly after, Marx pursued a position at Abacus Recordings in Los Angeles, and was soon transferred to their sister company Century Media Records in 2007. In 2008, Marx started working behind the scenes with 10th Street Management, also known as Motley Records in Los Angeles. She was featured at a Mötley Crüe press conference in Hollywood,[1] as she worked with the band on their viral marketing campaign.

In September 2009, she was featured on the Psyclon Nine album We The Fallen, performing a piano composition as well as designing the album artwork.

In October 2009 she was approached by California deathcore band Winds Of Plague to fill in on keyboard for their Australian/New Zealand tour with Arch Enemy and Suffocation.

Lisa Marx is currently in the industrial metal band The Witch Was Right playing guitar and keyboard. Their first online debut in May 2012 featured the song S.K.Y. with guest vocals by Davey Havok of AFI.

In April 2012, Lisa performed in a music video with group Beasto Blanco with Alice Cooper bassist Chuck Garric. Video is scheduled to be released in July.

In June 2012, Lisa also performed in Trainwrecked as dj with partner Tiffany Lowe at Hollywood night club Bar Sinister, headlining with support from God Module.
