Linkou Line
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Linkou Line (Chinese: 林口線; pinyin: Línkǒu Xiàn) is a railway branch line in Taiwan formerly operated by the Taiwan Railway Administration. It is located in Taoyuan County and New Taipei City. The Linkou line is no longer in operation, having been suspended in December of 2012.
History
The railroad was originally built to transport coal only (relevant with Neiwan Line) and completed in November 1986. But owing to the traffic policy of Taoyuan County, the local government made this line available for passenger service on October 27, 2005.
On December 28, 2012, service was suspended.
Services
While still in operation, service was only on work days, excluding government holidays.
