Linda Elin Ulvaeus (born 23 February 1973) is a Swedish singer-songwriter, screen and stage actress. She is the eldest child of Björn Ulvaeus and Agnetha Fältskog, former members of the Swedish pop group ABBA.

Ulvaeus made her musical debut in 1981, aged eight, when she released the album Nu tändas tusen juleljus, recorded with her mother in 1980. She has since developed her career as an actress. In 2004, Ulvaeus appeared as a backing singer in Agnetha Fältskog's comeback single "When You Walk in the Room".

Early life

Ulvaeus was born to Agnetha Fältskog and Björn Ulvaeus, the former members of pop group ABBA. Fältskog and Ulvaeus married on 6 July 1971.[1] Linda Elin Ulvaeus was born on 23 February 1973, in the Danderyd Hospital.[2] The second child of Fältskog and Ulvaeus, Peter Christian, was born on 4 December 1977.[3]

Career

ABBA, disbanded in 1983. During this time, Fältskog decided to record an LP with her daughter.[4] The LP, that was produced with the help of Michael Tretow, consisted of eighteen traditional Christmas carols and children's songs in Swedish. Nu tändas tusen juleljus was released in Sweden at the end of 1981.[4]

However, Ulvaeus wanted to be an actress. After her musical debut with Nu tändas tusen juleljus, she made her acting debut in the 1998 film Under solen as Lena. Ulvaeus then appeared on the television series Labyrinten in 2000; in 2001 she appeared on Blå måndag, released directly to the video.[5] She has also developed her career as a stage actress.

Ulvaeus appeared as a backing vocalist in her mother's 2004 comeback single, "When You Walk in the Room". In 2006, Ulvaeus returned to the big screen in the role of Sofia in the 2006 film Meningen med alltihopa. She appeared in the television series Playa del Sol in 2007.[5]

Ulvaeus has three daughters with her fiancé Jens Ekengren.[6] Tilda Eliza Frida Ulvaeus-Ekengren was born on 27 January 2001, Esther Ulvaeus-Ekengren in February 2007 and Signe in February 2010.[7]

Ulvaeus lives with her family in her own house on her mother's horse farm on Ekerö, an island near Stockholm.
