Political Career and Community Involvement
Linda Smyth has been a resident of Fairfax County, Virginia since 1972. She was elected to her first term as Supervisor for Providence December 15, 2003. [1] She was elected to her third four-year term in 2011. Prior to her work on the board, Smyth was the Fairfax County Planning Supervisor (1999–2003). Currently, Smyth heads the BOS Technology Committee. In addition, she is the on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Association of Counties [2] and serves on the Green Building Ad Hoc Committee, Transportation Planning Board, Metropolitan Washington Air Quality, and the Northern Virginia Regional Commission.
