Limbarska Gora is a settlement in the Municipality of Moravče in central Slovenia. Traditionally the area was part of Upper Carniola. It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region.[2]

Name

The name of the settlement was changed from Sveti Valentin (literally, 'Saint Valentine') to Limbarska Gora in 1955. The name was changed on the basis of the 1948 Law on Names of Settlements and Designations of Squares, Streets, and Buildings as part of efforts by Slovenia's postwar communist government to remove religious elements from toponyms.[3][4]

Church

The local church, built on the top of the Limbarska Gora peak (773 m), is dedicated to Saint Valentine and belongs to the Parish of Moravče. It dates to around 1730 and has a free-standing short belfry.[5]
