Lily Rae (born 9 December 1990) is a Brixton-born singer-songwriter.
Life and career
She was born Lily Rae Walsworth and raised in Brixton and Streatham. At the age of 13, Rae started writing music - penning the early track Scallywag, later used as a B-side for her E.P. Bad Film. Whilst attending Graveney School she played and wrote with student bands, including her band Bottle Rocket. After performing mostly with bands early in her music career, Rae was then signed to Sad Gnome Records early 2007 as a solo artist, releasing her debut E.P., Bad Film, on limited 7” on 28 January that year.[1] [2] [3] Following the release of this single, Rae has performed with The Veils, The Indelicates and sung backing vocals for Eddie Argos. She now attends Sussex University to study English.
Rae is the daughter of rock vocalist Walter Wray, frontman of the 80s band King Swamp.
She joined labelmates The Indelicates in late 2009.
Rae released her debut album, Oh No... on Corporate Records on 13 April 2010.
