Lille Catholic University (French: Université Catholique de Lille) is a private Catholic university located in Lille, France.
Institutional history
The university was founded in 1875. Today it has faculties and colleges specializing in all the major fields:
- Law - Economics - Management - Business
- Arts - Humanities - Education - Social work
- Health and Social Care
- Sciences and Technologies - Engineering
Among the most well-known of its institutes are:
- École des Hautes Études Commerciales du Nord (EDHEC) founded in 1906, currently ranked among the top 15 business schools in Europe by the Financial Times, and among the top 5 business schools in France by Le Point.
- Ecole des Hautes études d'ingénieur (HEI) a school of engineering, founded in 1885, offering 10 fields of specialization,
- Institut d'Économie Scientifique et de Gestion (IESEG), currently ranked within the top fifteen business schools in France by Le Point,
- Institut Catholique d'Arts et Métiers (ICAM) founded in 1898, with a specialty in educating engineers with a broad curriculum,
- Institut Supérieur d'Électronique et du Numérique (ISEN) founded in 1956,
- Ecole Supérieure de Journalisme (ESJ), the university's school of journalism, established in 1924,
- Institut Supérieur d'Agriculture (ISA), a school of engineering focusing on the agronomy/agriculture field.
