Alexandra "Lexi" Sterling (previously Cooper) is a fictional character from prime time soap opera Melrose Place, portrayed by Jamie Luner.
Background
Lexi Sterling is the daughter of a very rich man which often controlled her life and chose the man she had to marry. She and her husband Coop moved to Los Angeles but soon divorced.
Melrose Place
Lexi Sterling is introduced as an attractive woman who captured Peter Burn's attention, the two first wanted spend the night together, but Lexi declined. The following day, Peter recognises Lexi while she and Coop were discussing about their divorce, Lexi gives Peter a message, telling him to come to her hotel. After Lexi's first appearance, the two officially became a couple, although they decided to wait some time before telling their friends and Coop about their relationship. Lexi is first portrayed as a nice, beautiful, independent and well-liked woman, but after her break-up with Peter, caused by his feeling for his ex-wife Amanda Woodward, she starts showing an hidden, manipulative, cruel and oversexed side of herself. She seduces Peter's therapist who tells her about how Peter faked Amanda's kidnapping and unsuccessfully tries to blackmail him. When Amanda got financials problems, Lexi buys the Melrose Place building. During season seven she starts showing a deep interest for Kyle McBride's younger brother Ryan McBride. The two sleep together twice, but he starts rejecting her after he falls in love for Michael's ex-wife Megan Lewis. She also often tries to steal Amanda's clients and begins a relationship with Michael. Once, trying to steal one of Amanda's clients, she offers herself to him, he assumes drugs and dies. She asks Michael for help and the two cover his death. The relationship between the two grows up and in the finale episode he asks her to marry him, but she does not accept saying that she will betray him and break his heart soon.
