Biography

Lee was enrolled in the Department of Theatre and Cinema at Hanyang University but discontinued due to low attendance. Lee took a break from acting in 2006 claiming he felt overwhelmed with his workload in both television and film and resumed in 2007.

On 20 March 2008, Lee's 19 year old brother, a student at Sydney University, was fatally stabbed in an incident involving two groups of men beneath the World Tower in Sydney, Australia. Another 20 year old man was critically injured. Lee flew to Sydney to identify his brother's body.[1]

Lee enlisted for his mandatory military service on 15 June 2010 at the 102 Reserves in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do for four weeks of basic training followed by 21 months of active duty.[2] He served at the Defense Media Agency of the Ministry of National Defense and was appointed Honorary Ambassador of Military.[3] He was discharged on 28 March 2012, and on the same day, he was appointed promotional ambassador for the 2012 Korean Formula One Grand Prix held at the Korea International Circuit in October.[4]

In December 2011, three months prior to the completion of his service, Lee announced that he has signed an exclusive management contract with Mask Entertainment.[5][6] However in October 2012, Lee was reportedly in the process of cancelling his contract with them, though it was denied by the agency.[7][8] Then in November, It was announced that Lee signed on exclusively with FNC Entertainment, who will managed his future activities, and comeback project.[9][10]
