Leandro Augusto Oldoni Stachelski (born 18 August 1977),[1] known simply as Leandro Augusto, is a Brazilian born, Mexican[2] football midfielder of Polish descent, who plays for the Pumas in the Liga Bancomer MX.
Biography
Leandro Augusto was born in Cascavel, a city and municipality located in the western of the Brazilian state of Paraná.
He joined the Pumas in 2001 on a transfer from Club León, he previously played for Criciúma, Sport Club Internacional and Botafogo in his native country of Brazil. On the Pumas he is considered a key player due to his pace, stamina, and excellent ability with his left foot, which have earned him a spot as a regular starter on the Mexico City squad. He can play multiple functions on the team such as playing in a defensive midfield role where he recovers balls and brings a sense of security; from there he can relay the ball and create offensive threats towards opposing teams. Critics have praised him over the years for his versatility.
