Layher is a producer and inventor of modular scaffolding systems, headquartered in the German town of Eibensbach, Güglingen.

The first system, developed in 1965, was a modular frame system called Blitzgerüst or SpeedyScaf. SpeedyScaf was the base for the European type frame systems.[1] The second system, developed in 1974, became known as the Allround, pin&ring or ring-lock system, and is mainly used in industrial applications. As the originator of integrated scaffolding systems,[2][3] Layher has continued with product development and engineering for more than 60 years.

History

The company was founded by Wilhelm Layher in Eibensbach, and started by manufacturing timber products for the agricultural industry. It quickly moved into the scaffolding sector, and opened branches in other German cities.[4] Products recognised by the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik included the SpeedyScaf (used in the façade sector),[5] and Allround Scaffolding.[2]
