Lawrence F. Katz is Elisabeth Allison Professor of Economics at Harvard University. Katz is the coauthor of The Race Between Education and Technology (2008) with Claudia Goldin, also a Harvard professor.
He served as the Chief Economist of the U.S. Department of Labor for 1993 and 1994. Katz has been editor of the Quarterly Journal of Economics since 1991. He also serves as the Principal Investigator for the long-term evaluation of the Moving to Opportunity randomized housing mobility experiment.
