Lawgi

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lawgi is a locality in Central Queensland. A township was established with the opening of the Thangool-Lawgi Rail line in 1932. After this line was closed in 1955 the township disappeared leaving a community hall as the marker of the locality.

The area is a productive agricultural area with cattle and grain farming predominating.

Lawgi Hall is used for regular community dances, occasional church services, indoor bowls, polling booth and other community functions.

A memorial in the form of a gravestone marks the point where the Proposed Thangool - Monto line was terminated at Lawgi.
