Lauri Kaila

Lauri Kaila Gustaf Gabriel (last name until 1901 Johansson, 26 May 1876 Hameenkyro - 26 June 1958 Helsinki )[1] was a Finnish doctor of theology, lecturer and an author. Kaila's parents were the Reverend Joshua Johansson and Lovisa Tuticorin Borg. He took his matriculation examination in 1893 in Hämeenlinna Lyceum and studied at the University of Helsinki, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1895, a Master of Arts in 1897, Bachelor of Science degree in theology in 1904, a Licentiate of Theology in 1906 and Ph.D. in theology in 1907. Kaila was ordained a priest in 1897.

Kaila worked as a lecturer from 1908-1921 in Helsinki, Finland at the grammar school of religion and philosophy. He later became a senior lecturer and then senior faculty member from 1921 to 1945.[2]

Kaila married Karin Schrey Synnöve in 1905.
