Laura Regan (born 1977) is a Canadian actress, best known for her roles as Jessica Lynch in the 2003 TV movie Saving Jessica Lynch, Julia Lund in the 2002 horror film They, Emma in the 2002 British horror film My Little Eye, Lisa Ashen in the 2007 horror film Dead Silence, and as the recurring role of Jennifer Crane in the TV series Mad Men.
Personal life
Regan was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the youngest in a family of six. Regan is the daughter of Carole (née Harrison) and former Nova Scotian premier Gerald Regan, sister of former federal Minister of Fisheries and Oceans Geoff Regan and Live at Five's Nancy Regan. She was first attracted to the art of ballet and studied professionally until she sustained an injury at 15 that forced her to quit. She went on to study at McGill University in Montreal where she found herself attracted to theatre. She decided to move to New York City in her final year and completed her degree at the New School University. Regan's hobbies include skiing, swimming, tennis, yoga, and formerly ballet. Regan is also fluent in French & Italian.
Career
A combination of acting and modelling skills sent Regan on a quick path to film with her first role in M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable. She landed her first starring role in Robert Harmon's They.
Regan won an award for her role in My Little Eye at the twenty-second Annual Atlantic Film Festival which her father accepted. She speaks French and Italian.
In the summer of 2007 she married Iranian writer and producer Farhad Safinia.
