Laura Isabel Caro Beltrán (born December 22, 1983) is a Mexican recording artist. Caro first appeared on national television in 2002 as a contestant on the La Academia (Mexican reality television show) of the Mexican television TV Azteca.

Laura Caro has recorded and released two albums for sale, Libelula (Dragonfly) in 2007 and Grandes Exitos (Greatest Hits) in 2009. Caro's albums have been released for sale without a recognized record label.[1]

Early life

Laura Caro was born in Tijuana, Baja California on December 22, 1983. Daughter of Mrs. Laura Beltran and Mr. Julio Chavarria. Laura is the eldest of three sisters: Sara, Alondra and Dalia. At such a young age showed a passion for singing, at the same age she composed her first songs which she sang and danced at home.[2]

Laura chose to study a degree in Systems Engineering and in 2002, at the age of 18. She was given the opportunity to enter La Academia "The Academy" on the first generation, which enters as a member in this contest after her audition with the song "I Will Always Love You" of Whitney Houston.[3]

In 2003, she was a candidate to be the new lead vocalist of Limite Mexican band and to play the lead role in a Venezuelan telenovela.[4] She went on tour with MWR through all the Germany based US military bases. She is now preparing her 3rd independent album.
