The large bamboo rat (Rhizomys sumatrensis) is a species of rodents in the Spalacidae family found in Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. Their typical diet includes bamboo roots, but they will also feed on cultivated tapioca and sugarcane.[1]
